Monday, March 6, 2023 – Riyadh, Saudi Arabia – On the first day of their Enquiry Mission into the Riyadh Expo 2030 candidacy, members of the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE) today started their first of a series of workshops in the presence of H.E. Fahd Abdulmohsen Al-Rasheed, CEO of the Royal Commission for Riyadh City (RCRC), as well as senior representatives from other entities. The exchange covered the rationale driving the Riyadh Expo 2030 candidacy.
H.E. Al-Rasheed highlighted that the continuous support of the Riyadh candidacy from His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince, Prime Minister and Chairman of the Board of RCRC, as well as the collaboration of all relevant stakeholders and the support of the population, will pave the way for the city of Riyadh to deliver an exceptional World Expo in 2030.
Later in the day, the BIE delegates met with H.E. Mohammed Al-Jadaan, Minister of Finance, who reiterated Saudi Arabia’s full commitment to finance the World Expo in Riyadh, while ensuring its financial and economic viability.
H.E. Al-Jadaan added that the economic and financial reforms witnessed by the Kingdom, under the Saudi Vision 2030, contributed to accelerated growth, and the implementation of unique programs and projects to advance its realization. Riyadh Expo 2030 is one of them, and will contribute to offering many economic opportunities to Riyadh, which will further enrich the quality of life of residents and visitors.
Members of the BIE Enquiry Mission also got an insight into the richness, depth and diversity of Saudi Arabia’s culture, dating back to the 6th Century BC, by visiting the Saudi National Museum, at the King Abdulaziz Historical Center.
